Nusa Penida is a small island located southeast of Bali, Indonesia. Getting to the island is relatively easy and fast. Here are some ways to get to Nusa Penida:
You can cross to Nusa Penida using a fast boat from Bali, either from Kusamba or Sanur harbor. Additionally, you can also cross from Gili islands to Nusa Penida using a fast boat. Fast boat is a recommended option due to its relatively short travel time, which takes around 30-60 minutes depending on weather conditions and the speed of the boat. Departure from Sanur is currently the most popular route. And from Sanur, there are numerous fast boat options available to go to Nusa Penida, offering a wide range of departure schedules. This allows you to choose according to your preferred timing and convenience
If you want to travel to Nusa Penida from Bali with your motorbike or car, you can use the Slow Ferry (Roro) from Padang Bai to Nusa Penida. This ferry operates once daily for transportation to the island. However, if your purpose is to have a short vacation in Nusa Penida, we do not recommend this option as it is more suitable for local residents who need to transport goods and essential supplies to Nusa Penida.
You can use a public boat boat from Nusa Lembongan to Nusa Penida. Usually, the public boat departs from the “Yellow Bridge” in Nusa Lembongan and heads to the Toyapakeh harbor in Nusa Penida. However, the departure schedule of the public boat may change depending on the weather conditions and the demand from passengers.
